Your Role

As our new Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in architecting and maintaining A2Z Sync’s analytical data ecosystem. You’ll design and operationalize scalable, high-performance data solutions that enable real-time insights, support product innovation, and ensure the integrity and reliability of data across our platform. This role requires both technical depth and cross-functional collaboration to help us move faster and smarter as a data-driven organization.

Synthesize insights from complex, diverse datasets to inform business and product decisions.

Functional Competencies – Skills and Execution

Architect, build, and operationalize data workloads on AWS using services such as Athena, DynamoDB, Timestream, Flink, and Kafka.

Design, build, and optimize robust, scalable data pipelines using a mix of technologies — NiFi, Airflow, or comparable orchestration frameworks.

Develop and maintain data processing and service layers in Java and/or Python.

Implement and maintain data models, APIs for secure data access, and real-time streaming solutions.

Ensure reliability, observability, and performance of data pipelines through monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies.

Drive best practices for data storage formats (e.g., Parquet, Iceberg, ORC) and analytical data platform design.

Enforce governance and security controls (SSL/TLS, client authentication, access auditing).

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for candidates who:

Have extensive experience architecting, building, and operationalizing workloads on AWS (Athena, DynamoDB, Timestream, Flink, Kafka).

Possess a deep understanding of high-performance analytical data platforms, distributed systems, and modern data file formats.

Bring expertise in building services and APIs on top of data platforms using Java and/or Python.

Have a strong background in data modeling, data access API design, and production monitoring/alerting strategies.

Excel at problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced team environment.
