This Position reports to:
Application Sales Manager Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will support the Sales organization and customers throughout the sales process by adapting ABBâs products to customer applications, ensuring alignment with their technical requirements and specifications.
You will be responsible for selecting optimized products and technologies and acting as a key technical resource within your assigned area.
You will also contribute to business development by identifying and cultivating new opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking.

This position contributes to the Motion Business Area â Drives Division in the Italian market, with a focus on OEM customers in the machinery, plastics, metals, HVAC, and food \& beverage sectors.
Main stakeholders include Sales, Product Management, R\&D, and Factory Engineering teams in Finland and Germany.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and implement tailored solutions, product packages, and software applications
Understand customer needs and effectively communicate how ABBâs solutions address those needs
Coordinate product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value of ABBâs offerings
Support the preparation of sales proposals and assist in contract negotiations
Perform software development and on-site commissioning activities at customer locations
Qualifications for the role
Degree in Engineering Fields (Automation, Computer, Electrical..)
Minimum 2 years of experience in programming and application development, ideally in a similar role.
Proficiency in CODESYS, C, C++, and communication protocols such as Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP
Basic knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
Experience with PLC and drive systems
Strong problem-solving and customer-facing skills, with a hands-on approach to commissioning and support
Willingness to travel to customer sites and ABB factories
Fluent in English, to collaborate effectively with international teams (especially in Finland and Germany)
