The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Lingo Division. Working on Lingo, you will help build a next-generation technology that enables individuals to make decisions about how to improve energy, lose weight or enhance athletic performance.
What You'll Work On:
Design and architect scalable features for our Direct-to-Consumer e-commerce platform built on Next.js
Own critical systems including payment UIs, CMS-driven pages, and authentication workflows
Lead technical initiatives from design through deployment, ensuring performance, security, and reliability
Build and optimize our TypeScript monorepo using Turborepo, balancing shared component libraries with application independence
Build and maintain a component library using React, Storybook, and Tailwind CSS, ensuring design system consistency across the platform
Implement responsive, mobile-first interfaces with Tailwind CSS utility classes and custom design tokens
Drive integration strategy for third-party platforms including CommerceTools, Contentful, Auth0, and Braze
Establish engineering standards and best practices across testing, monitoring, and deployment
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Optimize application performance including Core Web Vitals, bundle size, image optimization, and client-side rendering strategies
Implement complex UI patterns including forms, data tables, modals, and multi-step checkout flows
Contribute to architectural decisions that impact the scalability and maintainability of the platform
Champion accessibility, internationalization, and compliance requirements (WCAG 2.1, GDPR)
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in frontend-focused roles
Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript with deep understanding of advanced types, generics, and type safety patterns
Extensive experience building production applications with React and Next.js (App Router, Server Components, API routes)
Strong proficiency with Tailwind CSS including custom configurations, design tokens, and responsive design patterns
Deep understanding of modern CSS including Flexbox, Grid, animations, and CSS custom properties
Proven track record building and scaling e-commerce platforms with hands-on experience in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business models
Strong understanding of payment UI flows, including third-party integrations and PCI compliance form handling
Deep knowledge of web performance optimization, including lazy loading, code splitting, and caching strategies
Experience with headless CMS platforms and content modeling
Proficiency with modern testing strategies including unit testing (Vitest/Jest), component testing (React Testing Library), and E2E testing (Playwright)
Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and experience with assistive technology testing
Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions across teams
Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team technical capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with CommerceTools or similar commerce platforms
Deep knowledge of Next.js including streaming, caching strategies, and edge runtime optimization
Experience with monorepo tools like Turborepo
Experience with form libraries (React Hook Form, Zod) and complex validation patterns
Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT) and identity providers like Auth0
Experience with error monitoring tools such as Sentry
Understanding of SEO best practices and structured data implementation
Experience with internationalization (i18n) and right-to-left (RTL) layout support

The base pay for this position is $114,000.00 – $228,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
