What You’ll Do
The Junior DevOps Engineer will support the implementation of infrastructure as code solutions and configuration management practices under guidance from senior team members. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and modern cloud deployment practices across AWS and Azure environments while learning DevOps principles. The engineer will contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise-level tools and technologies.
Due to the secure nature of this role, we are looking for candidates that has Australian citizenship and with an active security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure as Code Support: Support infrastructure as code implementations using Terraform across AWS and Azure cloud platforms with guidance from senior team members.
Configuration Management Support: Assist with configuration management tasks using Ansible.
Learn Infrastructure Automation: Contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives while developing expertise in cloud infrastructure tools and practices.
Support Pipeline Development: Assist in implementing and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines under supervision.
Container Learning: Gain experience with Docker containers and basic Kubernetes concepts.
Script Development: Develop basic Bash scripts for automation tasks.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions.
Collaborative Learning: Work closely with senior team members to understand infrastructure automation practices and DevOps principles.
Operational Support: Provide support for deployed applications and infrastructure under guidance.
Here’s what you need:
Solid understanding of infrastructure as code concepts, configuration management principles, and DevOps automation practices
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration practices
Familiarity with Azure DevOps platform (Pipelines, Repositories)
Basic knowledge of infrastructure as code concepts, preferably with Terraform across AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
Understanding of configuration management principles using Ansible
Basic Bash scripting abilities
Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Good communication and collaboration skills
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Australian citizenship with active baseline security clearance at minimum
Bonus points if with:
Familiarity with Docker containers
Basic understanding of containerization concepts
Interest in learning Kubernetes/OpenShift
Eagerness to learn HashiCorp Vault and secrets management
