Job requirements
Your role
As a Medior Data Engineer, You Will
Design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines (batch \& streaming) to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources.
Ensure high standards for data quality, governance, and maintainability.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and domain experts to understand needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Apply modern engineering best practices, including version control, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, and monitoring.
Work with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data technologies like Spark or Databricks.
Required Experience
Hard skills:

3‑7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.

Proficient in Python and SQL.

Solid hands-on experience with big data frameworks (e.g. Spark), ETL/ELT pipelines, and orchestration tools.

Good knowledge of cloud architecture, data lakes/warehouses, and scalable data infrastructure.

Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices (CI/CD, IAC, monitoring).
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator – technical and non-technical.
Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams.
Self-starter with a growth mindset and flexibility.
Other Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
Willingness to work 2 days per week onsite in Brussels (hybrid model).
