You’ll be working at the bleeding edge of Digital Identity and in a very complex environment, where you’ll use your technical expertise to deliver scalable, secure and high-performing solutions.
The role
The Senior Java Developer DTS will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java technologies and AWS cloud services within the project. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to develop solutions that are scalable, secure, and reliable.
Designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Apache Camel.
Building and integrating RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specifications and microservices architecture.
Deploying and managing applications on AWS using services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, MemoryDB (REDIS), MSK (Kafka).
Implementing IaC using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
Optimising applications for cloud scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
Applying secure coding practices and ensuring compliance with organisational and industry standards.
Conducting code reviews, enforcing best practices, and mentoring junior developers.
Collaborating with architects, product owners, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
What you bring to the role
As a Senior Java Developer, you have strong knowledge of Spring Boot, SQL, Apache Camel, RESTful services.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation).
Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to have:
AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect.
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
Knowledge of performance tuning and application monitoring tools.
