About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable backend systems, experienced in cloud-based environments (AWS), and comfortable collaborating across front-end and data teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services using Java.
Build and optimize APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.
Deploy, manage, and scale applications on AWS infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with front-end engineers (React or similar frameworks) to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality.
Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
Contribute to improving performance, reliability, and security across systems.
Work in an agile environment, taking ownership of development cycles and deliverables.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in backend development, primarily with Java.
Solid understanding of AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.).
Working knowledge of Python (not necessarily expert level).
Experience with React or other modern front-end frameworks is a plus.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work 3 days onsite as part of a hybrid schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of DevOps practices and monitoring tools.
Exposure to data processing or analytics pipelines is a plus.
