About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team at Olympic Dam. You will play a key role in delivering a range of infrastructure projects across facilities, utilities and support systems.
In this position, you’ll oversee project planning and execution, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. Your strong project management skills, technical know-how and ability to solve problems will be essential to your success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities, conduct feasibility assessments, manage schedules and support effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
This role is offered as a 5:2 residential or 8:6 FIFO role, depending on the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure project scope is clear and designs align with project objectives.
Prepare project documentation including proposals, estimates, budgets, schedules, and specifications.
Develop detailed designs, drawings, calculations, and technical data.
Ensure project procedures meet safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records.
Prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
Coordinate contract variations where required.
Inspect site works to ensure compliance with specifications and contract requirements and liaise with subcontractors to resolve issues.
Engage with clients to understand process and design requirements.
Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Work closely with Project Managers and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Experience:
Currently undertaking or have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in formal Engineering qualifications (Civil, Structural etc).
BHP experience (high desirable).
Valid Driver’s Licence.
Exposure to, and understanding of, the Construction industry.
Construction Industry Workers (White Card).
Planning and organisational skills to deliver successful projects on time.
Communication and interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining client and subcontractor relationships.
