Competence Unit for Cooperative Digital Technologies
is leading in applied research on the development of data-based IT solutions for various application scenarios, including the design of new and innovative solutions supporting society, industry and public administration, in increasing their preparedness and sustainability. As a reliable partner of industry and public authorities, we work on digital tools to enable informed decision making and collaboration, based on current research results and in close collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and end users.
Our
Sustainable and Resilience Society
team focuses on enhancing organizational resilience by enabling collaboration across public and private sectors. we develop technological solutions for data collection, sharing, analysis, and knowledge management, supporting informed decision-making in areas like crisis management and sustainable communities. By promoting trusted data exchange and managing unstructured knowledge, we helps improve planning, response, and resilience to environmental, societal, and technological challenges. Key areas of focus include crisis and disaster management and expanding the use of data spaces and AI-driven tools for effective decision support and knowledge mining.
CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY \& SECURITY
As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will design, evaluate, and integrate AI- and data-driven models that generate real value for our partners with a focus on circular economy, digital product passports, and digital twins.
Develop innovative solutions for knowledge and data management in the context of sustainability, climate change, and resilience.
Apply your expertise in AI/ML and LLMs to build intelligent and scalable digital solutions.
You support ongoing communication with stakeholders.
Contribute to the research community by publishing your results and by presenting them at scientific conferences, events, and workshops.
Ensure your solutions are user-oriented, scientifically excellent, and proven in practice.
You continuously expand your professional network in the national and international community and actively pass on your knowledge internally to colleagues and students.
Your Qualifications As An Ingenious Partner
A completed university degree (BSc or MSc), preferably in computer science, data science, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and service development (experience with FastAPI or Flask is a plus)
Solid understanding of software engineering and data management principles, including databases, APIs, interoperability, and data modeling
Initial experience with machine learning concepts and semantic/graph technologies (e.g., Neo4j, RDF/SPARQL) or digital twin systems
Experience with frameworks like Angular or React is advantageous
Familiarity with Git and Docker to support collaborative and reproducible development workflows
Experience in frontend development using modern frameworks such as Angular or React is preferred
Interest in applied research topics such as the circular economy, sustainability, and digital product passports
A team-oriented mindset, adaptability, and excellent communication skills in English
What To Expect
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 59.934,-- The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
