About AQT
At AQT we build and operate quantum computers. Founded in Innsbruck, Austria, in 2018, we aim to bring quantum technologies out of the laboratory environment and turn them into everyday products. Our goal is a quantum computer based on trapped ions, that is installed in normal IT infrastructure and can be readily operated from any PC or laptop. For our team in Innsbruck, we are now looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join us as a QC Infrastructure Manager.
Your role
The QC Infrastructure Manager is a role at AQT, reflecting our need for operating a reliable and flexible management system for a growing number of quantum computers and their IT infrastructure. The goal of the role will be to maintain and improve a management system for AQT's current and future quantum computing systems that are deployed at various local and remote locations. Further tasks will entail ensuring flawless operation of the network infrastructure of AQT's quantum computing data center in Innsbruck, as well as realizing automated and reliable quantum computing systems configuration, monitoring, and updates, to provide fast response to changing requirements. You will be in charge of the implementation and maintenance of backup solutions, and ensure high-availability operation of this hybrid IT infrastructure. You are expected to create a system that semi-automatically deploys updates, is scalable and modular. Finally, you are expected to be a reliable point of contact for various internal AQT stakeholders and users.
Responsibilities:
Planning, designing and developing the installation and maintenance of a management system to monitor and update AQT's quantum computers' internal IT systems
Planning, installing, and maintaining data center infrastructure, including quantum computing systems, and network appliances
Installing, maintaining and managing the infrastructure for system monitoring and backup
Ensuring high-availability of network and QC systems infrastructure
Introducing an alerting system in case of failures and outages to minimize downtime
Leading in debugging and diagnosing network problems, including quantum computing systems
Establishing secure IT infrastructure environment
Creating network documentation, and keeping it up-to-date
Supporting internal AQT stakeholders in relevant areas

Required Skills:
MSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Excellent knowledge and skills in best practices around management, control, backup, and monitoring of IT \& network infrastructure
Demonstrated ability and motivation to set up, configure, and integrate network hardware
Hands-on-mentality in IT administration, networking, routing and switching
Experience with Proxmox, Ansible and Terraform is a plus
Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
You are proactive, have great problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preference to work in a collaborative environment with highly-skilled colleagues
Good communication skills in spoken and written English

Your salary
Austrian law stipulates that the formal minimum salary of EUR 46 781.00 per year, according to Collective Bargaining Agreement, must be specified in job postings. Please note that, according to your experience and skills, we are typically paying much more.
