Are you ready to shape the future of FireTV partner products? We're seeking an exceptional Software Development Engineer to join our Fire TV team and deliver compelling, secure experiences that delight millions of customers worldwide.

In this role, you'll own large-scale customer-facing features from conception to delivery, designing and building innovative consumer products used daily by people in your community. You'll architect robust solutions that bring a steady flow of engaging new features throughout a device's lifetime, working at the intersection of niche technology and real-world impact.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer in the FireTV team, you'll design, develop, implement, test, and document distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services that power FireTV experiences. You'll translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that integrate seamlessly within our overall system architecture, ensuring scalability and reliability at every layer.

You'll evaluate and make strategic decisions around adopting new or existing software products and tools, balancing innovation with pragmatism to deliver optimal outcomes. Additionally, you'll mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and helping build a culture of excellence within the team.

A day in the life

As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with business partners, software development engineers, testers, and UI/UX designers to design, implement, test, launch, document, and maintain complex software applications and systems. Your work will significantly influence our overall strategy as you help define product features, drive system architecture, and establish best practices that enable quality at scale. You'll expand your expertise across diverse technologies and development processes while developing leadership skills, mastering effective project management, and mentoring junior engineers to grow the next generation of technical talent.

About the team

FireTV 3P engineering team is chartered to bring exceptional FireTV experiences to third party devices. This is an opportunity to design, develop and own the software that disrupts TV viewing experience and impact billions of viewers and devices.

We are spinning up a greenfield engineering team to build tools and technologies which will redefine the way 3P partners build their TVs on FireTV ecosystem. With exciting roadmap and launches planned ahead. FireTV 3P engineering team will independently own, deliver and support end to end product journey for partners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (non-internship) in professional software development

Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Experience in professional, non-internship software development, or experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
