Our client, a leading player in the financial services industry, is looking for a Business Analyst with a strong technical background and hands-on Python development experience. This role is ideal for someone who began their career in software development and later transitioned into business analysis, bridging technology and business to deliver impactful solutions.
You will work closely with quant researchers, trading teams, and developers across multiple asset classes - including FX, Equities, and Fixed Income - to define requirements, design technical solutions, and ensure seamless delivery of technology initiatives.
A technical coding assessment in Python will be part of the selection process.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with quant researchers, traders, and developers to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Use Python for data analysis, prototyping, and validating business logic to support trading and risk management systems.
Contribute to system design, API design, and data model discussions to ensure scalable and efficient solutions.
Work with developers to ensure requirements are accurately implemented and tested.
Support documentation of business processes, workflows, and system enhancements using Confluence and JIRA.
Collaborate across business and technology teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and enhance system functionality.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and project progress.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience as a Technical or IT Business Analyst within the financial services or trading domain.
Strong hands-on Python programming skills - able to write, understand, and debug code (mandatory).
Experience working with data pipelines, API integrations, and time-series data (KDB+/q experience is an advantage).
Familiarity with microservices, domain-driven design, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
