About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented

Junior Data Engineer

to join our growing data team. As a Junior Data Engineer, you will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to build and maintain data pipelines, databases, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines that enable efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

Work with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and build solutions that meet those needs.

Collaborate with senior data engineers to improve and optimize data infrastructure.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for data processing and automation.

Ensure the quality, reliability, and accuracy of data by implementing proper validation and testing processes.

Manage and maintain databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.

Monitor the performance of data systems and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance.

Assist in the preparation and integration of large datasets from various internal and external sources.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions align with business requirements.

Document processes, data flows, and technical specifications to maintain clarity and consistency.

Stay updated with emerging data engineering tools and technologies.

Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Basic knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes, data modeling, and database management.

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, or Scala.

Experience with data processing tools or frameworks (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark) is a plus.

Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services is a bonus.

Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake) is an advantage.

Understanding of version control tools, such as Git.

Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Good communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Eagerness to learn new technologies and stay updated with industry best practices.

Desirable Qualities

Internship or previous work experience in data engineering or related fields.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

Knowledge of data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Luigi) is an advantage.

Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
