The opportunity

The Product Insurance Manager is responsible for supporting Product Management activities across the insurance portfolio, including handling enquiries, reporting, communications, incident and issue management, product and plan-level insurance re-rates, insurance quote support, and disclosure and tender activities. The position works closely with business and operational teams to deliver insurance initiatives and ensure effective risk management practices.

The role supports the ongoing management and development of insurance products to ensure they remain contemporary, compliant, competitive, and aligned to target customer markets, including reviewing products and plans at risk of erosion due to premium impacts in line with insurance frameworks, erosion guidelines, and policies.

About the role:

Support Product Management activities which includes enquiries, reporting, communications, incident \& Issue management, product and plan level insurance re-rates, insurance quotes support, disclosure and tender support.

Support the management and development of the insurance offer so that it remains contemporary, compliant and relevant for the customer target markets.

Support in reviewing products and plans at risk of erosion due to insurance premiums. Looking at insurance Framework, Erosion guidelines and insurance policies.

Support with the oversight, raising and remediation activities of product insurance related incidents and breaches to the incident management team.

Maintain the existing insurance product set to legal, industry and competitor standards, including initiating and project managing product enhancements as required. Including seeking appropriate business and Board approvals.

Ensure the insurance offerings with the various products are managed within the Risk Management Framework and all incidents identified are rectified within the appropriate timeframes and process.

Support the business as an SME on insurance related regulatory change and growth initiatives as required.

Assist with preparation of any relevant Management and/or Board Papers and Reports.

Liaise with key stakeholders, in particular the Australian Wealth Management and Wealth Platform teams, our Advisor and Workplace Sales teams to assist with product management and development initiatives.

About you:

Previous 5+ years’ experience in relevant professional role and working across a fast paced, customer/client service orientated team environment and/or financial service industry and driving a collaborative, high performance culture.

Competent understanding and experience of wealth management and end to end business operations.

Intermediate technical experience in specific area of business/function (be specific) of wealth management and end to end business operations.

Understanding of competitors propositions and Superannuation/Investment industry trends, as they relate to the wealth management, in particular platforms environment.

Understanding of the regulatory and compliance regime for financial services.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications or preparedness to undergo studies in business or finance desirable.

Ability to influence and engage peers/senior leaders to support execution of business outcomes.

Excellent relationship development and stakeholder management skills applied within a matrix business.

Strong ability to demonstrate day to day decision making that drives good customer outcomes and supportive environment for team members.

Ability to set targets \& goals and drive delivery of results.

Strong ability to analyse difficult problems and issues and identify solutions that improves or modifies existing processes or ways of working.

Excellent communication skills in written, verbal, virtual and face to face.

Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with senior team members to solve problems, or complex client accounts where necessary.

Proven ability to work in an agile, dynamic environment.

Flexibility to work outside of immediate role remit if required.
