System Analyst
Role Summary
This role involves end-to-end database management, from gathering system requirements and designing SYBASE database models to performance tuning and troubleshooting in production environments. The position supports implementation and deployment activities, including code releases and data migrations, while maintaining detailed documentation. It requires strong collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment. The role also includes administering ASE, IQ, and Replication Server environments, automating routine tasks using shell, Perl, or Python scripts, and executing test plans to validate system reliability and functionality.
Responsibilities
Requirements analysis: Meet with business stakeholders, end-users, and IT teams to gather and define system requirements and specifications.
System design: Design logical and physical database models to meet business needs, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
Performance tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by tuning poorly performing databases and optimizing complex SQL queries.
Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex database-related issues, often in high-pressure production environments.
Database administration: Administer, maintain, and support SYBASE environments, including ASE, IQ, and Replication Server.
Implementation and deployment: Coordinate and participate in the implementation of new systems, including code deployment and data migration activities.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system specifications, processes, and configurations.
Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical teams (developers, DBAs) and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment.
Automation: Develop scripts (e.g., shell, Perl, Python) to automate routine database tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Testing: Prepare and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of systems before and after implementation.

10+ years previous experience
Relevant Qualifications
B. tech In IT, Certification in any hyperscalers will be an addon.
