Job Description

The Business Development Manager will be a highly professional and effective leader responsible for designing, implementing, and executing the commercial strategy to significantly grow The Appeal Guru's client base within the Chinese-speaking Amazon seller community globally. This strategic role requires native linguistic and deep cultural fluency, combined with expert knowledge of Amazon's ecosystem and the unique challenges faced by cross-border Chinese e-commerce companies.

The ultimate goal is to cement The Appeal Guru as the leading, trusted, and highly-rated service provider for Amazon suspension appeals and account growth services in the Greater China region.

2. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Market Penetration \& Sales:

Lead Generation: Proactively research, identify, and prospect high-value Amazon sellers and e-commerce store owners based in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, from initial contact to contract closure, specifically focusing on the company's core services: Amazon Suspension Appeal and Account Management.

B2B Relationship Building: Establish and nurture long-term, high-trust relationships (Guanxi) with key decision-makers (Founders, CEOs, Operations Directors) within target Chinese e-commerce companies.

Cultural \& Linguistic Bridge: Serve as the primary point of contact, conducting all high-level business negotiations, presentations, and correspondence in fluent, business-native Mandarin (written and spoken).

Partnerships: Identify and secure strategic channel partnerships (e.g., e-commerce software providers, supply chain/logistics firms, industry associations) that serve the Chinese Amazon seller market.

E-commerce Expertise \& Strategy:

Market Intelligence: Provide continuous, actionable intelligence on market trends, regulatory changes, competitor activities, and the specific reasons for account suspension prevalent among Chinese sellers.

Product Fit: Work cross-functionally with the operations and marketing teams to tailor and localise service offerings and messaging to resonate with the Chinese business mentality and client needs.

Localisation: Advise on appropriate communication channels (e.g., WeChat Official Accounts, local forums) and payment methods to facilitate ease of doing business for Chinese clients.

Reporting \& Performance:

Targets: Achieve aggressive monthly and quarterly targets for new client acquisition and service contract value.

Reporting: Prepare detailed weekly and monthly sales forecasts, market analysis reports, and performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Senior Management team.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Business Development Manager's performance will be measured by:

Net New Revenue (NNR) from Greater China clients.

Number of Qualified Leads Generated (per week/month).

Conversion Rate of Leads to Signed Service Contracts.

Growth in Strategic Partnership Referrals.

Client Retention/Upsell Rate post-successful appeal/onboarding.

4. Essential Skills \& Qualifications

Linguistic Fluency (Non-Negotiable): Native-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) and full professional fluency in English.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of B2B Business Development or Key Account Management experience, with a significant focus on the cross-border e-commerce or Amazon FBA/FBM ecosystem.

E-commerce Knowledge: Deep, verifiable understanding of the Amazon Seller Central platform, key Amazon policies (suspensions, PPC, compliance), and the operational supply chain/manufacturing practices common among Chinese sellers.

Cultural Acumen: Proven track record of successfully conducting business within the Chinese commercial culture, demonstrating knowledge of business etiquette and negotiation styles.

Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and complex problem-solving abilities.

Technical Proficiency: Strong command of CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), MS Office Suite, and popular Chinese communication tools (e.g., WeChat, DingTalk).

Education: A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
