About APR Supply Co.
APR Supply Co. is a century-strong leader in the HVAC and Plumbing distribution industry with 43 locations within PA, NJ, DE, and MD — and we’re redefining how data powers our business.
As part of our digital transformation, we are implementing Microsoft Fabric as our enterprise data and analytics platform, with a strong focus on data governance, security, and AI enablement. Our goal is to create a trusted, governed, and AI-ready data foundation that supports enterprise analytics, automation, and Copilot-style experiences across the organization.
We are seeking a hands-on Microsoft Fabric expert to lead this effort. This is a new, high-impact role with executive sponsorship and the authority to define how data is architected, governed, and consumed across APR.
If you’ve implemented Fabric in the real world—and understand that governance is not optional—this role was built for you.
As APR’s Principal Microsoft Fabric Data Architect, you will own the design, implementation, and governance of our Fabric platform end to end.
This role goes far beyond dashboards.
What you'll do:
Design and implement a production-grade Microsoft Fabric architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Spark Notebooks, and Pipelines
Implement and manage Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) with performance, reliability, and scalability in mind
Lead ingestion from enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, eCommerce, vendor feeds, files, APIs)
Design and enforce enterprise data governance policies within Fabric
Implement Microsoft Purview for:
-
Data lineage and impact analysis
-
Sensitivity labels and classification
-
Data discovery and cataloging
Define and manage security models, including OneLake permissions, workspace design, and Power BI semantic model security
Partner with IT, Security, and Compliance to ensure data is trusted, auditable, and policy-aligned
Design Power BI semantic models aligned to governed Gold-layer data
Build and review high-performance datasets, DAX measures, and reporting patterns
Enable secure self-service analytics without sacrificing governance
Enable Fabric data for AI and Copilot-style use cases, including RAG-based patterns
Integrate structured and unstructured data (documents, text, images, video) into the governed Fabric ecosystem
Collaborate on AI-driven enrichment and search scenarios
Act as the Fabric authority across the organization
Establish standards, patterns, and best practices
Mentor analysts and engineers working within Fabric
Communicate clearly with both executives and technical teams
Required for Success:
Required
Microsoft Fabric DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification
Microsoft Fabric DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer) certification
5+ years designing and supporting enterprise data platforms (experience does not need to be Fabric alone)
Direct, hands-on production experience with Microsoft Fabric (not just training or POCs)
Proven experience designing data governance frameworks
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview
Deep understanding of Lakehouse and Medallion architecture
Strong Power BI, SQL, and Python skills
Strongly Preferred
Experience governing data in enterprise-scale environments
Experience integrating Fabric with Microsoft 365 security and identity models
Experience enabling AI, RAG, or Copilot-style data access
Prior ownership of platform standards, not just development tasks
