Are you looking for a career-defining opportunity to work for one of the fastest-growing Retail Media Networks in Canada? You’ve arrived at just the right place! At our organization, we put the customer first in everything we do. We use data-driven insights about customer preferences, behaviour, purchase trends, and media consumption to deliver highly-effective, customized marketing solutions for brand marketers and media agencies alike.

At the core of our Retail Media offering is our loyalty program, which boasts millions of active members, allowing us to deeply understand our customers, personalize our strategies, and measure the impact of paid advertising on brand metrics and sales across multiple retail banners. We are looking for high-achievers with a builder’s mindset – individuals who can support the business in multiple areas, be mentally flexible and take pride in creating new processes and solutions in an agile, entrepreneurial, exciting environment.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our Analytics team building our new “Insights as a Service” platform. This role involves developing and maintaining data pipelines, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring data quality for our self-serve client portal. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical skills in backend data engineering and a strong aptitude for problem-solving and effective collaboration.

Develop data architectures and flows that support both internal teams and external brand partners

Troubleshoot data issues by investigating problems and working backwards to identify root causes in pipelines and data flows

Ensure data quality assurance through systematic validation processes and proactive issue identification

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and define technical solutions that address business problems

Work with cross-functional teams including corporate data measurement teams and data engineering squads

Support the creation of queries and technical infrastructure for visualization dashboards

Engage with both internal and external clients to understand data needs and translate requirements into technical solutions

What You Bring

Post-secondary education in computer science, data engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline

Strong backend technical experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and data architecture design

Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly GCP and Azure

Experience with data visualization tools – DOMO experience highly preferred but not required

Advanced SQL skills and experience with large-scale data processing

Problem-solving mindset with ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues

Excellent communication skills – ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Quality assurance experience with data validation and testing processes

Collaborative approach – exceptional team player who can work cross-functionally

Curiosity-driven – naturally asks questions to understand requirements and identify potential issues

Preferred Qualifications

Background working with client-facing data products

Experience with self-serve analytics platforms

Why Join Us?

Opportunity to build cutting-edge data infrastructure for retail media advertising
