DevOps Engineer (Gaming)

This i sa Vancouver-based position that required 3 days a week onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). It is a 18 month position.

Your expertise in DevOps will directly impact the speed, reliability, and scalability of game development, enabling creative teams to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment.

In this role, you’ll be a vital bridge between creative vision and technical execution. You’ll architect and maintain the cloud infrastructure that supports the entire game development lifecycle, from initial concept to global release. Your passion for automation and optimization will ensure that developers have the tools and resources they need to bring their imaginative worlds to life. Collaborate with talented engineers and artists, driving innovation and efficiency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and scale secure cloud infrastructure.

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for deployment, testing, and integration.

Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform, etc.

Collaborate with software engineers and pipeline developers on shared technology integration.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve system reliability and performance.

Implement automated monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies.

Contribute to cost optimization strategies for cloud services.

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 3+ years of experience as a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, or similar role OR equivalent experience.

Proficiency with C# or a similar strongly-typed language (Java, Kotlin, C++) and experience debugging and fixing issues with live services

Experience working in cloud-based pipelines and infrastructure. Azure heavily preferred (AWS/Google Cloud experience could work too)

Experience migrating on-prem solutions to the cloud or experience standing up end to end workflows primarily in the cloud

Expertise in cloud architecture and deployment.

Proficiency with scripting and automation tools.

Solid understanding of CI/CD systems

Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration

Familiarity with source control (Git, Perforce) and infrastructure as code.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience integrating with content tools for game development.

Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Experience working within a game development studio environment.
