The Bar Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of bar operations, ensuring exceptional service, effective staff management, and tight control of stock and cash. Operating within a high-profile venue, the role demands discretion, attention to detail, and a hands-on leadership style to uphold company standards and drive performance.

Job Responsibilities

Service \& Standards

Deliver outstanding guest experiences and maintain high presentation standards

Lead by example with a hands-on approach, ensuring team engagement and motivation

Implement promotions and ensure excellent product knowledge across the team

Stock Control

Maintain and rotate stock levels

Accurately record stock counts, discrepancies, and wastage/ullage

Ensure secure filing and data input of stock records

Cash Control

Manage cash floats and ensure accurate cash lifts

Enforce strict cash handling procedures and issue receipts for all transactions

Prevent stock and cash losses through effective controls

Staff Management

Conduct staff inductions and ensure adherence to company policies

Supervise bar and floor staff, ensuring courteous and timely service

Promote a positive work environment and report incidents to HR

Support recruitment, training, and development of team members

Security \& Compliance

Maintain control of keys and secure storerooms

Ensure compliance with Health \& Safety and Food Hygiene regulations

Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and work areas

Qualifications

5–10 years’ experience in hospitality, ideally in a senior bar role

Strong background in premium beverage service and wine management

Excellent attention to detail and initiative

Positive, solutions-focused attitude with strong communication skills

Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
