Tech Insurance squad assist ASB insurance customers by connecting them with insurance products and services. ASB provides General and Life Insurance, with insurance partners underwriting General Insurance and Life Insurance. Our responsibility is to support insurance partners in keeping their systems operating efficiently.
We handle core insurance data and work closely with our insurance partners to deliver integrated technology solutions.
About the role:
We are looking for an individual that will take ownership of our quality, drive continuous change for the squad and customers to ensure we are delivering best possible outcomes. You will work collaboratively with our squads and stakeholders to be the voice of Testing and deliver products that delight our customers. We are looking for someone who has:
10+ years of software test engineering experience
Proven experience with strong hands‑on capability in both manual and automated testing
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end testing across web applications, APIs, integrations and data layers (where applicable)
Experience implementing agile testing practices within cross‑functional squads, contributing throughout the full SDLC
Develop / maintain test automation framework for Web, Desktop \& APIs
Desktop, Web and API Test automation experience with C# (or any programming/scripting language)
Comfortable mentoring and guiding other testers or engineers, promoting testing standards and best practices
Financial/Banking/Insurance domain experience
API testing experience using Postman or similar tool
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Good understanding and experience of working using Agile principles
Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with developers, analysts, product owners and stakeholders
In addition, any of the following would be an advantage:
Working knowledge of performance testing preferably Load Runner
Complex enterprise systems experience
Experience with insurance applications
Certified in ISTQB Fundamentals or relevant cert
Experience working in incident management environment
