The role

We are seeking a passionate Medical Affairs Director to lead a team of three Medical Science Liaisons and one Medical Advisor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving and developing the Medical Affairs organization in Italy.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional, global teams striving to achieve extraordinary results.

You will report directly to Thomas Topini, General Manager Italy, who is based in Milan.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Development and execution of the Global Medical Affairs strategy for Italy, incl. developing/refining Medical Affairs policies and procedures and SOPs, to ensure and maintain excellence in standards and practices.

Build and manage KOL relationships \& strategic partnerships within healthcare and societies.

Lead the development, management, and execution of Advisory Boards in Italy

Work closely with Head of Medical Affairs, Europe, and Japan, Commercial and Clinical Development to plan and implement launch strategies, tactics, and life cycle management.

Provide assessments of product opportunities and threats

Oversee investigator-sponsored trials (ISTs) and compassionate use programs.

Provide medical expertise, and collaborate with Commercial, Legal, and Regulatory for development and review of Labeling, advertising, and promotional materials.

Develop and deliver presentations on Medical Affairs projects to both internal and external audiences within legal, compliance and regulatory guidelines.Represent Medical Affairs Italy internally and externally.

Stay abreast of up-to-date knowledge on all clinical data relevant to the TransCon endocrinology portfolio, the competitive landscape, new therapies, clinical trends, and newly issued regulatory laws to promptly identify possible impact, competition, or improvements to product programs.

Qualifications and Skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree and 10+ years of industry or academic experience, hereof min. 5 years within Medical Affairs. Knowledge in basic and clinical science, endocrinology is an advantage.

Furthermore, you have:

Strong demonstrated leadership and team building skills

Experience with product launches in Italy

A demonstrated sound judgement in terms of handling complex, confidential, and regulated information.

Also, you are proficient in Italian and English at a professional level, both written and spoken.

You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and can thrive in an informal, open environment where innovation and change are key. To succeed in this role, we also expect you to be an eminent strategic and critical thinking leader who possess excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills.

Travel: Up to 30% of the time mostly domestically, but also internationally
