Auckland Transport is seeking a talented Security Engineer to protect our computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats and unauthorized access. You'll play a key role in proactively identifying, mitigating, and preventing cyber risks and data breaches that could compromise our operations and sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain security controls, solutions, and architectures for applications, cloud systems, networks, and critical infrastructure.
Configure and manage security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, etc.).
Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and ethical hacking.
Investigate security incidents and breaches, and perform incident response activities.
Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices.
Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and external stakeholders to integrate security.
Monitor security systems, logs, and alerts for threats and anomalies.
Provide security awareness training and promote a security-conscious culture.
Prepare reports and document findings or procedures.
Engage in continuous learning and professional development..

Qualifications:
Tertiary degree in computer science, information security, or equivalent experience.
One or more relevant certifications (e.g., ISC2 CISSP, Microsoft SC-200/AZ500, or similar).
Experience:
Previous cybersecurity roles (security analyst, penetration tester, security administrator).
Experience with Microsoft security tools and a diverse range of network monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and encryption tools.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective prioritization and execution in high-pressure environments.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
