Job Description

We are seeking Data Engineers to join our Smarter Data Program and help shape the future of data-driven decision making across the ATO.

As a Data Engineer (EL 1), you will lead a dynamic team driving transformation across enterprise data platforms. You’ll create automated pipelines that collect, curate and optimise raw data, transforming it into high quality information. Your work will support seamless integration of data pipelines with ATO systems. You’ll also contribute to improving platforms and applications to meet user needs, while ensuring the ongoing stability and technical health of ATO systems through proactive maintenance and support.

Our branch spans a wide range of data engineering disciplines:

Cloud Data Engineers design, build and manage scalable cloud-based data platforms that support enterprise analytics and decision-making.

Support Engineers ensure the stability and performance of data systems by resolving issues across a variety of data engineering tools and platforms.

Graph Engineers design, develop and maintain data pipelines optimised for graph database technologies, enabling advanced relationship-based data analysis.

Data Engineers design, develop and maintain data pipelines and SQL-based solutions to support data integration, transformation, and analytics across diverse data platforms and use cases.

You will collaborate with business partners to align technical strategies with business objectives, providing expert guidance on best practices and mentoring team members to foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and lead data initiatives, drive technical excellence and grow your expertise in a collaborative and forward thinking environment.

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Box Hill (VIC), Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Dandenong, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Moonee Ponds, Newcastle, Parramatta, Perth or Sydney CBD.
