The job
We are looking for an AI Governance and Delivery Lead to establish and operationalise AVEVAâs Responsible AI framework. This strategic role will ensure our AI initiatives are developed ethically, securely, and in line with global regulations. Youâll work across Legal, IT Security, and AI/Data teams to embed governance-by-design principles and drive programme delivery that supports innovation and trust.
The lead will integrate governance-by-design principles into the AI development lifecycle and provide program management oversight for key governance initiatives, ensuring that compliance accelerates, rather than hinders, innovation and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Governance \& Enablement* Develop and implement a holistic AI governance framework that aligns with industry best practices and upcoming regulations like the EU AI Act.
Act as a subject matter expert, advising AI product and engineering teams on interpreting and implementing privacy, security, and fairness requirements.
Create and maintain a "Responsible AI Playbook," providing developers with clear guidelines, tools, and templates to build compliant solutions efficiently.
Integrated Risk Management* Lead proactive risk assessments for new AI use cases, including agentic systems, identifying potential ethical, legal, and technical risks before development begins.
Translate abstract regulatory requirements into concrete technical controls and actionable user stories for development teams.
Partner with MLOps and engineering teams to automate compliance monitoring and evidence collection within the CI/CD pipeline, reducing manual overhead.
Program Delivery \& PMO Capability* Manage the portfolio of AI governance projects (e.g., implementation of new controls, audit readiness), defining scope, milestones, and deliverables.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring timely input from stakeholders in Legal, HR, Cybersecurity, and business units.
Develop and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the governance framework, reporting progress to the Executive Risk Committee and the Data Governance Director.
Continuous Improvement \& Assurance* Stay abreast of the evolving global AI regulatory landscape to ensure the governance framework remains current and effective.
Organize and manage internal and external audits of AI systems, ensuring all necessary documentation and evidence are readily available.
Foster a culture of responsibility and trust by conducting training and awareness sessions for technical and non-technical teams
Skills and Experience
Educational Qualifications \& Experience:* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Business).
Proven experience in a technology-focused Product Owner, Project Manager, or Program Manager role, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
Experience in IT governance, risk, compliance, or auditing; certifications like CISA, CISM, or PMP are advantageous but not a substitute for practical delivery experience.
Hands-on familiarity with the AI/ML project lifecycle, from data acquisition and model training to deployment and monitoring.
Experience with generative AI and agentic systems is highly desirable.
Technical \& Occupational Competencies:* Strong ability to bridge the gap between technical, business, and legal teams, communicating complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Expertise in agile project management and experience driving projects with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
A proactive and collaborative mindset, focused on enabling teams and solving problems rather than just identifying them.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
