About The Team:

A successful candidate for this role will work in Digital Intelligence’s Singapore Hub, with a focus on delivering and support complex systems to our customers. The Role - System Consultant:

A System Consultant is a versatile systems deployment engineer within the local engineering team. They are characterized by strong IT fundamentals and are adept at deploying, integrating, and supporting a diverse mix of infrastructure and application technologies in the mission-critical, complex systems built by BAE. In this role, the selected candidate will operate in a high-security environment, working with very large datasets and solving challenging engineering problems at scale to help our customers defend against threats in the connected world.

A successful System Consultant is highly technical, has a curious mind about technology, proclivity to seek improvement and bold to make feasible recommendations or carry out controlled technical implementation.

Ideally, someone who is adept at working within a structured project schedule but also willing to go above and beyond to meet tight timelines when necessary. He/she should not only be skilled in handling systems but also effective in engaging with customers. A good dose of engineering discipline, particularly in thorough and accurate documentation, is essential.

This is an extremely hands-on role, and candidates should possess a relentless drive to gain extensive knowledge of BAE products, third-party tools, and the fast-paced, evolving technologies in our domain. Everyone on the team contributes their own specialties, complementing each other to strengthen our engineering capabilities. Core Responsibilities:System Implementation \& Support* Deploy, configure, and support infrastructure and application technologies used in our solutions.

Troubleshoot deployment issues (under project) or incidents (under service delivery), and work with software engineers to remediate problems in production.

Work independently and effectively in a high-security environments, while adhering to customer site and system security protocols.

Effectively Identify root causes of system issues by methodically analyzing and testing in a controlled test environment.

Proactive handling of incident and service request, including clear and timely ticket updates.

Support out of hours work when necessary.

Together with the wider local engineering team, share a standby and on-call rota.

Customer \& Stakeholder Engagement* Engage regularly with customers and partners, maintaining a clear focus on driving customer success.

Build trust and rapport with customer and partners on the ground through clear communication, integrity and demonstrated system expertise.

Testing \& Validation* Execute Acceptance tests with the Customer/Stakeholder during the test acceptance phase of Projects. This includes the ability to raise defects on the appropriate platforms concisely and to follow through with the investigation of these defects.

Ensure that deployed solutions or system changes meet the defined project requirements and/or support objectives.

Engineering Processes \& Collaboration* Continuously seek new and better implementation approaches, challenging existing methods professionally and constructively.

Grow local capabilities by sharing knowledge and experience though documentations or in-person demonstrations.

Produce high-quality technical documentation for both customer and internal purposes, including Statement of Work, Incident Reports and User Guides.

Work closely with global engineering teams to enhance system performance in both projects and service delivery where required.

Promote a culture of collaboration and learning within the engineering community in both project and service delivery functions.

Work closely with global engineering teams on issue resolution and deployment activities.

Mandatory Traits and Skillsets:* Analytical mind with strong grasp of system logic.

Ability to replace manual procedures with automation.

Effective and concise communication skills to engage developers, internal stakeholders, partners and customers.

Strong understanding of low-level networking, including OSI \& TCP/IP models, with hands on experience using Wireshark or similar network traffic analysis tools.

Experienced in network switching and routing concepts.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux environment, preferably RHEL or AlmaLinux, with a priority on Linux expertise.

Experience in operational responsibilities like system monitoring, maintenance, resource management, capacity planning, change management and performance tuning for large systems.

Must be adept at handling multiple priorities in a high pressure and dynamic environment

Advantageous Skillsets OR Potential Growth Opportunities: Hands-on experience in:* Supporting complex, scalable data platforms.

Supporting industry standard relational databases like Oracle, MS SQL Server, MariaDB, Postgres.

Supporting Directory services like LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory.

Supporting network equipment from Cisco, Dell and Arista.

Distributed computing framework like Hadoop, HDFS.

Distributed messaging systems like Kafka.

Distributed NoSQL datastore like Elasticsearch, Redis and HBase.

Container orchestration platform and deployment tools like Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD and Helm.

Automation tools like Ansible, Foreman and Puppet

Database query languages like T-SQL or PL/SQL

At least one of the high-level languages like PowerShell, Bash scripting or Python

Health monitoring systems like Nagios

Working knowledge in:* ITIL Framework.

Basic software development concepts such as data structures and schemas.

Relational databases concepts.

NoSQL database concepts.

Distributed processing and analytics engine like Spark

Familiarity with productivity and collaborative tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence and SharePoint.
