As a Senior Software Engineer in Customer Trust \& Security at Bankwest, you will build the core systems that support our delivery of the Scams Prevention Framework (SPF) and help protect customers from financial harm.

You’ll design and deliver secure, event‑driven backend services and APIs that power actionable scams intelligence, cross‑brand account linkage controls, and network‑based investigation capabilities. Your work will integrate data and workflows across Bankwest and Group platforms, helping evolve tactical, manual processes into scalable, strategic, API‑ and stream‑based solutions.

This is a full‑cycle role with genuine ownership. You will shape system design, write production‑grade code, deploy cloud‑native services, and continuously improve reliability, security, and performance in complex distributed systems. You’ll also influence technical direction and help lift engineering standards across the team.

Our focus spans the full customer journey, including payments and digital channels, ensuring threats are detected and disrupted before customers are impacted. This is engineering with real impact. The team designs and delivers secure backend APIs and event‑driven services that integrate Bankwest and Group platforms, enabling real‑time scam and risk signals and strengthening customer protection at scale. Here, you’re not just building systems you’re helping safeguard trust in digital banking.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:* Who have experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with proven full-stack, end-to-end delivery expertise. This includes owning solutions from design through to production support using C# .NET Core and AWS.

Design and implement secure, scalable, event‑driven solutions, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Provide technical leadership across the delivery lifecycle, influencing architecture, engineering quality, and long-term platform direction.

Design, document, and implement scalable, secure solutions, including distributing source system data via bulk interfaces with a focus on performance and reliability.

Contribute to complex delivery planning with technical oversight, aligning outcomes with broader engineering direction and long-term platform strategy.

Actively embrace and integrate AI-driven solutions, including LLMs and agentic AI approaches, keeping AI front of mind to enhance engineering workflows, developer productivity, and product capability.
