About The Role We are looking for a skilled WordPress Headless Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in decoupling WordPress as a content management system and building modern, performant frontends using React and Next.js, with expertise in custom API integrations and WordPress block development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop headless WordPress solutions with decoupled frontends
Build custom React/Next.js applications consuming WordPress REST API and GraphQL
Create custom WordPress blocks using the Block Editor (Gutenberg)
Design and implement custom API integrations with third-party services
Develop custom WordPress plugins and themes as needed
Implement REST API endpoints and custom GraphQL schemas
Optimize website performance and ensure scalability
Integrate third-party libraries and APIs seamlessly
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Collaborate with designers, content creators, and stakeholders
REQUIRED SKILLS \& QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js (latest versions)
Deep understanding of WordPress architecture and ecosystem
Experience with WordPress REST API and WP GraphQL
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
Strong PHP skills for WordPress backend development
Experience with custom WordPress block development (Gutenberg)
Knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development
Experience with third-party API integrations
Understanding of headless CMS architecture
Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS, styled-components)
WordPress-Specific:
Proven experience with headless WordPress implementations
Experience building custom WordPress blocks
Knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or similar
Understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, and actions
Experience with WordPress Multisite (preferred)
Familiarity with WooCommerce (plus)
Knowledge of WordPress security best practices
API \& Integration:
Strong experience with RESTful API design and implementation
Experience with GraphQL (WPGraphQL)
Proven track record of third-party API integrations
Understanding of authentication methods (OAuth, JWT)
Experience with webhooks and real-time data synchronization
General:
3+ years of experience in web development
2+ years of WordPress development experience
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Excellent communication skills in English
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with version control (Git)
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with headless CMS platforms (Contentful, Strapi)
Knowledge of serverless architectures (Vercel, AWS Lambda, Netlify)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, PHPUnit)
Understanding of SEO best practices for headless WordPress
Experience with page builders (Elementor, Beaver Builder)
Knowledge of WordPress VIP or enterprise WordPress solutions
Experience with performance optimization tools
Familiarity with Docker and containerization
