Overview:
BigBear.ai is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Herndon, VA office. The selected candidate will perform data engineering associated with synchronizing new and existing systems for DIA. The candidate will have experience performing data engineering associated with database pipelines and schemas for a multimillion-dollar program that supports DoD and the IC.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with a team of developers to meet data integration requirements by writing and maintaining ETL code.
Interface with external teams and systems using protocols such as HTML to efficiently collect and process data.
Enhance the ETL platform by developing features to streamline and accelerate future data integration efforts.
Develop and maintain software, validate data ingest processes, and create comprehensive documentation of system architecture, development, and enhancements.
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of the degree requirement
Clearance:TS/SCI w/Poly
Experience with PostgreSQL, Python, Java or Scala
Understanding the concepts of data lake, data warehousing including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data modeling is essential. Familiarity with cloud-based storage and computing platforms such as Azure, and AWS
Must have Neo4J and Anzograph experience
Proficiency in version control systems such as Git and understanding the concepts of branching, merging, and tagging is essential
What we'd like you to have:
Knowledge of distributed computing technologies like Hive, Hadoop and Spark
Experience with integrating data from various sources such as web services, APIs and file systems
Advanced understanding of database schemas
