As a Senior Rust Engineer on the Autofill team at Bitwarden, you will be responsible for building new features and maintaining the various cross\-platform SDKs for our Password Manager products, including feature areas focusing on passkeys, SSH keys, and autotype. We're looking for someone who will thrive in a growing organization with a strong collaborative focus. You will have the opportunity to take ownership over a key area of our products, providing direction for future changes and scoping out work to bring exciting new features to our user and developer communities while maintaining overall code quality and maintainability.
This is an all\-remote team and we need someone located in the U.S., preferably Eastern time zone. We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Become an expert on the Password Manager APIs
Participate in hands\-on design, development, and evolution of the Bitwarden Password Manager SDKs and desktop user interaction features such as passkeys, SSH keys, and autotype
Participate in growing Rust within the Bitwarden Password Manager products
Participate in code reviews, learning, and spreading technical knowledge
Independently plan, estimate, and deliver new feature work and bug fixes
Occasionally review \& approve bug fixes submitted by the user community
WHAT YOU BRING TO BITWARDEN
Expertise in developing and maintaining Rust components, including the design and application of libraries, language bindings, and FFI
Experience in creating native desktop applications, interfacing directly with OS API's on Windows, Mac, \& Linux
Experience with Electron, TypeScript, and other web tech for cross\-platform desktop applications and web clients
Collaborative and adaptable mindset
Openness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skills
Excitement and enthusiasm for open source and for better internet security
Excellent problem\-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution

In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $140,000 \- $200,000\.
