As a Compliance Specialist (f/m/x), youâll play a key role in ensuring our products meet global regulatory, social, and environmental standards, protecting our consumers, suppliers, and the communities and environments we impact.
In this role, youâll drive compliance excellence across all product categories, manage product and social compliance programs, coordinate testing and audits, and support ESG reporting initiatives. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory partners, youâll make sure every Black Diamond product reflects our values of integrity, performance, and respect for people and the planet.
This role is based in the EU and will have a local point of contact. Due to the close interfaces between teams, it will involve regular collaboration with our global team in the USA.#### YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and update compliance documentation, policies, and procedures to align with changing standards and regulations.
Coordinate product compliance activities like Restricted Substance List (RSL) testing, labeling reviews, and other checks to make sure our products are safe and compliant.
Ensure our products follow global regulations, including CPSC, CE, ISO, REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals.
Support social compliance programs by organizing supplier audits, tracking corrective actions, and helping implement company-wide social compliance policies.
Gather, validate, and analyze data to meet European and global reporting needs, including ESG and sustainability requirements.
Work closely with different teams to collect information, clarify data responsibilities, improve data quality, and tackle compliance issues.
Keep an eye on regulatory changes and industry trends so we stay compliant and ahead of reporting obligations.
Prepare clear, accurate, and auditable reports for internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
Provide support to the Compliance Manager and team on projects and daily administrative tasks.
WHAT YOU IDEALLY BRING WITH YOUMinimum 1 year of experience in supply chain, sustainability, quality, regulatory, or compliance roles (e.g., quality inspector, sourcing specialist, sustainability specialist).
Experience in regulated industries such as PPE, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or consumer goods is a plus.
Familiar with standards and regulations, including EN, ASTM, ISO, and CPSC.
A team player with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, drive, and integrity.
Comfortable managing projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, restricted substances, and CSR principles is an advantage.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, is required; German language skills are a plus.
Curiosity about how products are made â basic understanding of materials or manufacturing processes for apparel or equipment is helpful.
Experience with document control systems is a bonus.
