How do you make our customers happy?
By helping 47,000 partners make smarter assortment decisions that benefit 13.7 million customers. As the Product Manager of Assortment Management, you transform raw data into actionable insights that partners eagerly embrace. You donât just provide dashboards, you guide partners toward decisions that grow their business while improving product discoverability on our platform. Whether itâs for a local hero or an international behemoth, you help partners understand what to sell, when to expand their range, and how to fill gaps that customers care most about.
The biggest challenge
Partners range from individual sellers to enterprise brands, each with different needs, capabilities, and ways of working. Some analyze data manually, others leverage third-party tools to increasingly automate decisions. How do you make insights relevant across that spectrum? How do you guide partners toward valuable actions without imposing a strategy? And how do you leverage AI to reduce complexity and give partners more control? Success means striking that elusive balance between providing clear direction and the freedom partners need to run their business their way.
What you'll do as the Product Manager of Assortment Management
Youâll lead one of two Assortment Management teams within the Partner Assortment \& Advertising area. Your team includes experienced engineers â a mature squad ready to turn ambitious ideas into scalable solutions. Your focus is on partner-facing interfaces (portals and APIs) that provide insights for decision-making and inject tailored guidance into the partner journey.
Weâre at an inflection point where AI is quickly changing how customers discover products and enabling powerful new tools with which we can help partners interpret insights. Your challenge is to harness that shift while building products that feel empowering rather than prescriptive. You shape the product strategy, define what success looks like, and prioritize opportunities that drive partner understanding and action.
Responsibilities
This isnât a PO role where you write Jira tickets for some nice-to-haves. Here, youâll develop a deep understanding of partner needs, demonstrate how data products create value, and rally cross-functional teams around a coherent vision. Youâll work closely with customer-journey teams to connect what customers search for with what partners offer. Your key responsibilities:
Shape a product strategy that leverages insights to drive partner actions benefiting partners, customers, and bol
Improve discoverability by helping partners understand customer search behavior and making their assortment easier to find
Increase our unique assortment by identifying products with demonstrated customer demand that arenât yet on the platform
Leverage AI to help partners cut through the information overload and distill actions relevant to their specific situation
Drive cross-team collaboration to align internal and external stakeholders around partner success and an exemplary customer experience
Define success metrics and prioritize opportunities that drive partner understanding and inspire positive behaviors
Why you can make a difference
You combine product management experience with a solid track record in B2B products and data-intensive environments. You understand the complexity of attributing value to data products and know how partners (could and should) leverage insights in their decision-making processes. Youâve worked with diverse customer segments before and know how to balance competing needs without defaulting to the lowest common denominator. Your ability to think strategically while staying hands-on sets you apart. You can define a compelling product vision and work collaboratively with your team to clarify requirements, remove blockers, and ensure everyone understands what success looks like. Youâre comfortable with ambiguity, energized by the many ways to help partners succeed, and skilled at navigating complex stakeholder landscapes. You donât shy away from experimentation in fast-moving AI environments â you lean into it.
3 reasons why this is (not) for you
Switch to find out
- Simplicity seeker You prefer straightforward problems to intellectual challenges and instinctively shy away from data-intensive work
- Tried and true devotee Experimentation feels like an unnecessary distraction, and fast-moving AI-driven environments make you uncomfortable
- Lone wolf You are energized by thinking up bold features. Investing in cross-team collaboration to guide partners toward platform value immediately drains that energy away.
+ Impact-driven product thinker You measure success by outcomes, not output, and know how to prioritize what matters most while testing relentlessly
+ Partner-obsessed You seek data to understand partner needs deeply and create experiences that foster stronger partnerships
+ Complexity navigator You turn complex, raw information into meaningful, actionable insights
Where you'll work
Youâll join the Assortment Management teams at the core of bolâs partner ecosystem, where 47,000 partners interact with our platform daily. As part of a retail tech platform with 2,900 colleagues serving 13.7 million customers, youâll work on systems processing millions of assortment interactions. We recently transitioned to a product-led approach and are implementing AI to redefine how partners make decisions and improve how customers discover products. If thereâs a better way to help partners grow their business while improving customer experience, weâre building it. Ready to shape the future of partner assortment management?
