Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. About your team:

We’re the pride of Ireland. Bord Gáis Energy have been powering the nation’s homes and businesses for almost 40 years. But now, we’re so much more than just gas and electric. Through our unique combination of household heroes and energy assets, we’re at the heart of the energy transition in Ireland, strengthening the country’s energy security and helping customers get ready for a net zero future.

Bord Gáis Energy is recruiting an expert Electrical, Instrumentation \& Control (EI\&C) Lead Engineer to lead the technical delivery of major energy infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK. This is a key role in our multi-billion euro asset development strategy, covering all phases from concept through commissioning.

About the role:

Provide technical leadership across EI\&C design, construction, commissioning, and operations.

Drive project success by working across functions and stakeholders including EPC contractors, regulators, TSO/DSOs, OEMs, and local authorities.

Manage complex, high-hazard energy sites, including high-voltage and hydrocarbon systems.

Lead design reviews, technical approvals, and contractor oversight to ensure safety, quality and code compliance (IEC, IEEE, IET).

Support site feasibility assessments, grid code compliance, and technical input into commercial evaluations.

Oversee contracts and contribute to project controls, risk analysis, and scheduling (FIDIC, NEC experience ideal).

Here's what we're looking for:

Vast EI\&C experience in capital asset projects (greenfield or brownfield).

Deep technical knowledge of EI\&C systems for power, energy, or process plant environments.

Strong understanding of grid code requirements and electrical systems in thermal, solar, and flexible demand projects.

Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) preferred.

Experience across disciplines, with ability to collaborate and challenge constructively across engineering interfaces.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Data-driven decision-maker, confident in chairing meetings and producing clear, actionable insights.
