About Us:
We're a bootstrapped healthcare SaaS startup building a web platform from the ground up. As our first UI developer, you'll have the opportunity to establish the foundation of our user interface and shape how healthcare professionals interact with our product.
Shift Details:
Location: Kitchener (On site position)
Hours: 9AM -5 PM
Pay range: $50,000 - $80,000
The Role:
You'll own the entire front-end development process, translating product requirements into a functional, intuitive web interface. This is a ground-floor opportunity where your decisions will directly impact our platform's success and user experience.
What You'll Do:
Build our web-based user interface from scratch, making foundational technology and architecture decisions
Create responsive, accessible interfaces that meet healthcare industry standards and compliance requirements
Collaborate directly with founders and stakeholders to refine product features and user workflows
Establish front-end development standards, coding practices, and documentation as we grow
Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
Integrate front-end components with backend APIs
Iterate quickly based on user feedback and evolving product needs
What We're Looking For:
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar)
UI/UX design skills or experience
Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
Experience with design systems and component libraries
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming
Experience with version control (Git)
Self-directed with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration in a startup environment
Nice to Have:
Experience in healthcare or highly regulated industries
Backend development experience - AWS experience, particularly with CloudFront and S3 buckets - Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and deployment
