Vulnerability Analyst – Qualys \& Documentation Specialist
Contract Length: 6\-month W2 contract with potential for extension/conversion
Overview:
Our Fortune 500 media client is seeking a Vulnerability Analyst contractor with strong hands\-on experience in Qualys, technical documentation, and infrastructure understanding to support ongoing vulnerability management efforts. This role is intended to support the Sr. Vulnerability Analyst/Qualys Specialist, who is currently managing a wide range of responsibilities. The primary objective is to provide technical and documentation support as the team works through duplicating services, establishing scanning infrastructure, and improving operational efficiency during a period of change.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and document service duplication efforts using Qualys tools and internal processes.
Support the integration and migration of vulnerability data.
Help architect and document the infrastructure for vulnerability scanning and remediation (L1 to L3 tasks).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and troubleshoot gaps in security processes.
Produce technical documentation in Confluence, Word, and other collaboration tools.
Work alongside a Qualys specialist, PMO, and business leaders to clarify operational needs.
Provide business context for vulnerability and ASM\-related tasks in sensitive and complex environments.
Contribute to standing up virtual infrastructure (VMware, scanners, vCenter—nice to have).
Day\-to\-Day:
Partner closely with the Vulnerability Management and PMO teams.
Act as a right hand to the current resource managing all aspects of ASM/Vuln Mgmt.
Provide project support and documentation related to QualysAgent, proxy configuration, network scanning, and internal reporting.
Report to the Director of Vulnerability Management and collaborate with peers across U.S. and U.K. time zones.
Top Skills \& Tools:
Strong experience with Qualys (Agent, Proxy, Network Scanning)
Hands\-on technical documentation (Word, Confluence, Atlassian tools)
PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI (for standard reporting)
Nice to Have:
Python scripting
VMware or vCenter experience
Schedule \& Work Environment:
Fully remote role: EST hours preferred.
40% of the team is based in the UK and West Coast.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Has previously worked in vulnerability management or cybersecurity infrastructure projects.
Able to quickly step into a partially defined environment and produce clear documentation.
Brings a collaborative mindset and is comfortable with ambiguity.
Can bridge gaps between security engineering and business needs.
