Vice President, Platform and Operations
As a Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud solutions align with business objectives and industry best practices. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing our cloud environment for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
Role \& Responsibilities:* Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on GCP.
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to define cloud architecture and implement best practices.
Automate cloud operations and infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Terragrunt.
Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency while maintaining performance and security standards.
Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts for cloud-related issues.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes.
Experience \& Qualifications:* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on GCP or AWS.
Strong Kubernetes experience
Proven expertise in designing and managing cloud environments, including compute, storage, networking, and security components.
Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python or Bash.
In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:* Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
