Our client is an exciting UK FoodTech start-up on a mission to redefine how original food brands reach consumers. Often described as “the record label of food,” they combine brand development, technology, and franchise operations to bring trend-setting food concepts to hundreds of neighbourhoods nationwide.

The company partners with exciting up-and-coming food brands, helping them scale rapidly through a network of local kitchen operators.

About the Role:

They are seeking a highly skilled

Data \& Insights Engineer

to join their growing analytics and technology function. This is a hybrid role at the intersection of engineering and insight, responsible for building the company’s data infrastructure while driving actionable intelligence across all business units.

The ideal candidate will be as comfortable designing robust data pipelines as they are analysing and communicating insights to non-technical teams. This is an opportunity to own core parts of the company’s data ecosystem and make a tangible impact on strategic decisions in a high-growth environment.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for ingestion and transformation of data from diverse internal and external sources.

Build and optimise data infrastructure in

GCP

, with strong use of

BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Run

, and

Mage

for orchestration.

Source and integrate external data efficiently using

Python

.

Ensure end-to-end pipeline reliability with comprehensive

monitoring, alerting, and incident response

systems.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Brand, and Operations to deliver clear, actionable insights.

Conduct in-depth analyses, transforming raw data into compelling insights that guide decision-making.

Lead initiatives to enhance data governance, architecture, and best practices across the business.

Stay up to date with the latest developments in data engineering to improve scalability, efficiency, and data quality.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or technical Data Analyst in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Advanced

Python

skills for data extraction, transformation, and automation.

Expertise in

SQL

and

Dataform

, with experience managing large datasets in cloud-based warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake).

Proven experience using

Mage

or

Airflow

for pipeline orchestration.

Strong understanding of

GCP

infrastructure, particularly

Cloud Run

and

GCS

.

Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Strong communicator able to translate complex technical topics for diverse stakeholders.

Enthusiastic, proactive, and collaborative, thriving in a fast-paced culture.
