A major Canadian financial institution is launching a large‑scale migration and modernization initiative, and is looking for a Full Stack Developer (Java/React) to help rebuild core digital platforms. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto.
What You’ll Work On
Contributing to a multi‑phase migration project, helping move legacy systems into modern, scalable architectures.
Building backend services using Java, with a focus on performance, reliability, and high‑volume processing.
Developing responsive, modular front‑end interfaces using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
Designing and implementing RESTful APIs, integration layers, and BFF (Backend‑for‑Frontend) patterns.
Working with SQL databases to support schema redesign, data access optimization, and migration activities.
Collaborating with architects, product owners, and cloud engineers as the team moves toward AWS‑based solutions (cloud experience is a plus).
Participating in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement efforts.
What You Bring
Strong experience with Java and backend service development.
Hands‑on experience with React, component‑based UI development, and front‑end best practices.
Solid understanding of API development, integration patterns, and distributed system fundamentals.
Proficiency with SQL and relational database design.
Experience with migration or modernization projects is an asset.
Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms is beneficial.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Pay: Up to $95.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
