About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Programmer to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a foundation in programming and a strong interest in manufacturing processes, particularly plastic injection molding and part design. You will support engineering and production teams by developing, maintaining, and improving programs, tools, and automation that enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
This position offers hands-on exposure to real-world manufacturing environments and opportunities to grow technically within a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining programs related to manufacturing systems and processes
Support automation, data collection, and process improvement initiatives on the shop floor
Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production teams to understand manufacturing requirements
Help create and modify programs related to part design, tooling, or manufacturing workflows
Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Document programs, processes, and changes clearly and accurately
Provide troubleshooting support for programming-related manufacturing issues
Qualifications \& Experience
Diploma or degree in Computer Programming, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
0–3 years of programming experience (co-op, internship, or academic projects welcome)
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes; plastic injection molding experience is a strong asset
Familiarity with CAD/design concepts (e.g., part design, tooling, or mold design) is an asset
Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Java, SQL, or similar)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment
Preferred Assets
Exposure to injection molding tooling, mold design, or process parameters
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Familiarity with ERP, MES, or manufacturing data systems
Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
