The Mission

Hands-on data engineer contributing to modern cloud-native data solutions and/or database migration \& modernization initiatives under the guidance of a more senior colleague.

Engineers at this level are expected to be strong in at least one core area:

Data Platform Development Focus

Building modern data pipelines and cloud-native data platforms

Data Migration \& Modernization Focus

Executing database engineering, schema modernization, and migration delivery

Key Responsibilities:

Implement data engineering tasks aligned to solution architecture and quality standards

Contribute to cloud-native platform components or migration execution activities

Support testing, documentation, and technical validation

Participate in technical discussions to align on solution approaches

Required Technical Competencies:

Platform Development Focus (strong in most):

Experience building data pipelines using cloud-native services (batch and/or streaming)

Understanding of modern data lake/lakehouse patterns, file formats, and data processing frameworks

Proficiency in Python for data engineering workloads

Exposure to IaC and CI/CD for data workflows

Migration \& Modernization Focus (strong in most):

Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning

Practical experience with at least two major relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)

Understanding of data modeling and ETL/ELT warehouse workflows

Experience supporting data migrations across environments

Working knowledge of cloud database services

Foundational Across Both Paths:

Basic cloud architecture awareness

Security and cost-conscious engineering practices

Automation mindset

With growing awareness and limited exposure to the other area over time.

Experience Requirements

3+ years in data engineering, database engineering, or related roles

1+ years working in cloud environments

Language

Upper-Intermediate English (minimum B2).
