Responsibilities:
API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python.
Data Management: Implement efficient data storage solutions in relation databases and object storages.
Integration: Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration between front and back ends.
Scalability: Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and highly available.
Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
Security: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulations.
Monitoring: Set up monitoring and logging.
Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually enhance the backend infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Required:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in backend development, regardless of programming language.
Database Management: Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly MySQL.
Version Control: Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude.
Scrappy and Agile: Comfortable in an agile environment and willing to get hands dirty.
Decisive: Capable of making tough choices and clearly articulating them to the team.
English Proficiency: Strong communication skills in English.
Some of the team don't speak Spanish, so the ability to work fully in English is required.
Highly scrappy, but rigorous.
Preferred:
Experience: Backend frameworks such as Django, Spring, or similar.
Serverless Architecture: Experience with serverless architecture and developing serverless applications using AWS or similar cloud-based infrastructure.
Security: Knowledge of best practices in application security and data protection.
Automation: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
Startup Experience: Familiar with the fast-paced, dynamic nature of startup environments.
Passionate: Deep passion for sustainability, climate, or social impact.
Growth Mindset: Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
