Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center Limited (MRC) is one of the InnoHK Centres of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with ETH Zurich, Imperial College London, Johns Hopkins University and Technical University of Munich. MRC provides a collaborative platform for clinicians, engineers, and researchers from local and overseas universities. By focusing on innovative surgical robotics technology with a strong emphasis on clinical application and direct patient benefits, MRC enables these multidisciplinary teams to work together and translate biomedical engineering research into new medical practices.
We are looking for a high caliber candidate to join the administrative team located at Hong Kong Science Park. The appointee will work in a number of administrative and financial disciplines closely with internal and external parties at different levels.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in early-stage surgical instrument development, including brainstorm, prototyping and performance validation through bench testing.
Participate in the entire product development lifecycle, including prototyping, bench testing, verification and validation, and mass manufacturing.
Support verification and validation testing by writing test protocols, designing test jigs, preparing test reports, and collaborating with the engineering team to provide feedback for design improvements.
Assist in control testing by writing scripts for prototyping, verification, and validation tests.
Collaborate with R\&D and cross-functional engineering teams to design and develop instruments integrated with the surgical robotic system, from initial concept to clinical trial stage.
Maintain detailed documentation of design and development processes in compliance with company quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support product development initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Proven experience in designing reusable surgical instruments, with a strong understanding of sterilization processes and standards.
Experience with CNC machining, metal injection molding, or other production methods for surgical instruments, along with the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers.
Competence in selecting suitable materials and manufacturing process for surgical instruments while balancing cost and quality considerations.
Exceptional computer skills, particularly in CAD and CAM software.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrating self-motivation and strong teamwork skills.
Experience in designing single-use surgical devices is an advantage.
Knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and ISO 62304 is a plus.
Salary \& Benefits
We offer 5-day work, attractive remuneration package to the successful candidate. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
