Job Description We are looking for a Foundation Laboratory Technician to support on-site and laboratory-based foundation and piling related tests in accordance with HOKLAS / ISO IEC 17025 requirements.
This role focuses on the accurate execution of tests, proper operation and maintenance of testing equipment, and clear recording of test data to ensure the validity and reliability of test results.
Responsibilities Carry out on-site piling tests and foundation-related laboratory tests in accordance with relevant standards, method statements and HOKLAS requirements.
Ensure all tests are performed correctly, safely and within the laboratory quality system.
Be responsible for the validity, accuracy and completeness of test results under supervision.
Operate, maintain and perform routine checks and calibration of testing equipment as instructed by Engineer / Senior Engineer.
Record test data clearly and accurately, and prepare worksheets and test records in a timely manner.
Identify abnormal test results or equipment issues and report promptly to supervisory staff.
Maintain testing equipment, tools and consumables in a clean, safe and usable condition.
Comply with laboratory quality procedures, code of conduct and site safety requirements.
Assist senior technical staff in other foundation or laboratory testing duties when required.
Requirements:
Higher Diploma or above in Civil, Geotechnical, Construction or related disciplines.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in foundation testing, piling tests or site laboratory operations.
Experience with HOKLAS-accredited laboratories or foundation-related tests is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of testing standards, equipment operation and quality control procedures.
Good safety awareness and willingness to work on construction sites.
Basic computer skills for data recording and report preparation.
Candidates with less experience in site/laboratory work will also be considered for the position of Assistant Foundation Laboratory Technician.
Career Development:
Progression to Foundation Laboratory Technician / Qualified Operator upon competence assessment.
Opportunity to advance to Senior Technician or supervisory roles under HOKLAS quality system.
Exposure to a wide range of foundation and piling test methods.
