Purpose

The primary focus of the Senior Integration Developer is to design, build and maintain

scalable integration services and infrastructure within the City of Marion’s Information

Services Operations team. As part of a small, dedicated group, the role will establish and

manage in-house expertise in system integration and analytics to enable informed decision-

making and promote cost-effective operations.

Utilising Azure’s API Management platform and Azure integration services, the role will

develop innovative implementation of integration architectures to consolidate and

streamline data across hybrid and multi-cloud environments into a unified source of truth.

Key Deliverables

Utilise Azure's API Management platform to lead, design, develop and implement API-

driven architectures.

Adopt innovative integration approaches to modernize workflows, improve data flow,

and increase interoperability between diverse platforms.

Own, Create and maintain thorough documentation for integration services,

processes and troubleshooting procedures.

Provide detailed data analysis, solutions and integration designs that aligns with the

CoM Data Quality Guideline and the CoM Data Integration and Data Reference

Architecture

Facilitate seamless integration across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring

secure and efficient data exchange.

Reduce reliance on external resources by developing robust, maintainable integration

solutions.

Be responsible for the ongoing support and enhancements for integration systems to

ensure long-term sustainability.

Proactively anticipate customer needs and provide personalized, timely, and effective

solutions to exceed expectations.

Communicate with clarity, empathy, and professionalism to build trust and ensure

positive customer experience.

Person Specification

Essential criteria

Technical Expertise:

Proficiency in integration platforms such as Azure API Management, MuleSoft, or Dell

Boomi.

Strong experience with APIs, including RESTful and SOAP, and hands-on expertise in

designing and implementing API-driven solutions.

Knowledge of middleware technologies and integration patterns.

Familiarity with scripting for automation and workflow optimisation.

Ability to analyse complex systems and design efficient integration solutions.

Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve integration issues promptly.

Documentation and Communication:

technical stakeholders.

Experience:

Prior experience in integrating applications across hybrid and multi-cloud

environments.

Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional

Understanding of security protocols and best practices for data integration.

Desirable criteria

SQL and Coding Skills:

Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, or C#.

Advanced SQL skills for data integration, transformation, and querying across

multiple systems.

Project Management:

Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple integration projects simultaneously.

Standard conditions

Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance (will be arranged by the City of

Marion)

Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment (will be arranged by the

City of Marion)

Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia,

with the ability to provide documentation of a valid work visa.

Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and
