Overview:
We are seeking a Data Analyst who will support our NYS client. The Data Analyst will need hands\-on experience with PowerBI and similar tools along with a strong data modeling background. This role will support strategic decision\-making across technology initiatives by designing, building, and maintaining data visualizations, dashboards, and reports. The analyst will play a critical role in enhancing transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency through data\-driven insights.
Duties
Develop and maintain dashboards and visual reports to monitor project performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Collaborate with team members to define data requirements and reporting needs.
Build automated and static reports aligned with governance metrics and compliance standards.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across reporting tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
Analyze trends, identify anomalies, and support continuous improvement of IT planning and governance processes.
Assist in data preparation, aggregation, and modeling to support innovation scoring and project evaluation frameworks.
Contribute to documentation of reporting standards, data definitions, and report usage guidelines.
Mandatory Qualifications
5\+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, preferably in the public sector or higher education.
2\+ years of experience with data modeling in large enterprise environments.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data modeling, transformation, and cleansing techniques.
Strong proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
Familiarity with IT project governance, performance management, or educational data reporting is a plus.
