About the Role
We are looking for an 8+ year experienced DevOps Lead to manage and evolve our AWS-based infrastructure and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and system reliability. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strategic leadership to improve existing systems, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvement across development and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead AWS Infrastructure Management:
Oversee and optimize AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, and networking components.
System Reliability \& Performance:
Ensure uptime, scalability, and performance of critical applications and services through monitoring, automation, and proactive optimization.
CI/CD Pipeline Ownership:
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
Automation \& Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
Security \& Compliance:
Implement IAM policies, manage secrets securely, and enforce best practices around access, logging, and compliance.
Cost Optimization:
Regularly review AWS billing, identify cost inefficiencies, and recommend optimizations.
Leadership \& Mentorship:
Provide technical direction to the DevOps team, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate existing setups, identify gaps, and suggest new tools, standards, or practices to improve scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, QA, and product teams to streamline release management and environment consistency.
Required Skills \& Qualifications
Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and infrastructure design.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes).
Proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring in AWS.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
Familiarity with GitOps and DevSecOps practices.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to influence and drive technical decisions.
