DevOps Engineer – AWS \& Data Engineering
We are looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps/Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), data engineering (AWS Glue), automation (Python), and monitoring solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Fluency in German at the C1 level is Preferable, as the role involves regular interaction with German-speaking stakeholders and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform on AWS.
Automate provisioning and management of AWS resources, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and more.
Data Engineering \& AWS Glue
Develop and maintain AWS Glue jobs for ETL and data transformation processes.
Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and data quality.
Monitoring \& Dashboards
Set up monitoring and alerting systems using CloudWatch, Grafana, or similar tools.
Build dashboards for infrastructure and application performance analytics.
Automation \& Scripting
Develop robust Python scripts for automation, data processing, and system integration.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins.
Security \& Compliance
Implement best practices for cloud security, cost optimization, and scalability.
Manage IAM policies and enforce role-based access controls.
Collaboration \& Agile Practices
Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to support development and deployment needs.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives).
Required Skills \& Experience
Proven experience with AWS services and Terraform.
Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
Hands-on experience with AWS Glue and ETL pipelines.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, or equivalent.
Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
Understanding of cloud security principles and IAM configurations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
