See yourself in our team

As a Staff Engineer, you’ll shape the technical direction of your squad in Group Strategy and Technology. You’ll work with engineers, product managers, and designers to architect scalable, secure systems.

This hands-on leadership role blends technical depth with architectural vision and mentoring. You’ll guide engineering practices, influence system design, and drive innovation using AI where it adds real value.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Are passionate technology leaders who architect, design, and guide solutions from concept to delivery

Build enterprise-grade financial systems with embedded Agentic AI capabilities

Drive the integration of autonomous AI agents across key banking use cases

Partner with data scientists and engineers to deliver intelligent, adaptive platforms

Establish architectural standards and ensure compliance with financial regulations

Explore emerging technologies and lead strategic adoption across AI, cloud, and finance

Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews and cross-team collaboration

Mentor engineering teams and champion a culture of innovation and experimentation

Align technical decisions with customer needs and strategic business goals

Influence architectural direction through clear communication and stakeholder engagement

Backend : Python (FastAPI), Node.js (Fastify), Java, .NET Core, C#, API-first design, service decomposition, CQRS, DDD

Databases : SQL, NoSQL (Postgres, MongoDB), distributed data modelling, event sourcing

Data Technologies : AWS-native tools (DynamoDB, Aurora, S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift), data lake/warehouse architecture, governance and lineage

Architecture : Microservices, event-driven systems, distributed design, service orchestration, domain-driven design

Cloud : AWS (Certified Developer/Architect), Azure, multi-account strategy, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CDK), hybrid cloud integration

DevOps : GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, developer experience enablement, secrets management

Containers : Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh (Istio), autoscaling, resilience patterns

Security : Secure-by-design systems, threat modelling, IAM, zero trust architecture

Testing : Unit, regression, contract testing, CI/CD automation, shift-left testing, release governance

Observability : Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry (distributed tracing, SLOs/SLIs, incident response)

AI \& Emerging Technology

While this role isn’t AI-first, we value engineers who:

Understand how AI and machine learning can enhance engineering workflows

Build or integrate AI-assisted tools and GenAI applications (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, GenAI APIs)

Use AI-powered coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Continue, or Aider

Are curious about agentic systems and real-world AI experimentation
