Role Purpose

The Engineering Manager will be a key leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing engineering within our organization. This position plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of skilled engineers to design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring the highest level of productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, enhance product development, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead and manage an engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster a culture of excellence and professional growth.

Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.

New Process Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless integration of advanced technologies and best practices.

Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, seeking innovative ways to reduce expenses while maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including R\&D, production, maintenance, and supply chain teams, to foster a cohesive and collaborative work environment.

Provide specific engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge direction (understands theories and fundamentals) and ensure team members identify root cause of issues in order to provide permanent solutions.

Manage resources that ensure all Environmental, Safety and Health requirements for projects are met.

Manage resources that help develop SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.

Experiences/Education - Required

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Filed (preferred but not a must: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic, Electronic or similar)

Minimum of 10+ years of relative experience with equipment design and delivering and supporting systems in manufacturing.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in high volume production environments

  • Experience in labor intensive and asset intensive operations

  • Experience in engineering leadership role, with proven progression of leadership roles from engineer to manager

  • Strong background in process optimization, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decisions.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Project management experience and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and a commitment to staying updated with industry trends.

  • Lead or participate in engineering strategy creating process

Experiences/Education - Desired

Desired Skills:

Process simulation software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing processes.

Experience with Fiber optic processing technology

Experience working with Automation Vendors
