Role Purpose(s)

The Lead Product Specialist (APAC) plays a pivotal role in shaping the regional product strategy and ensuring alignment between market requirements, customer needs, and global product direction. This individual will act as the bridge between clients, business development teams, and product owners, bringing deep domain knowledge of trade compliance regulations across APAC, with a particular focus on China and ASEAN. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical and commercial acumen to guide product evolution, engage with both government and enterprise clients, define pricing models, and ensure CrimsonLogic’s trade compliance offerings remain competitive.

Key Accountabilities

Act as the regional subject matter expert (SME) for trade compliance within APAC markets.

Translate market, regulatory, and customer requirements into actionable insights for global product teams. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Engineering to ensure product-market fit and compliance with APAC regulatory standards.

Support pre-sales and solution design for key clients, particularly in complex government or enterprise projects.

Define and manage commercial frameworks, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies for the region.

May act as Product Owner for a sub-product

Job Responsibilities \& Duties

Pre-Sales and Customer Management: Serve

as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring seamless onboarding and adoption of customs integration solutions in APAC (mainly China and Southeast Asia countries)

Support pre-sales and solution design for key clients, particularly in complex government or enterprise projects.

Provide training, support, and documentation to help clients maximize the value of our systems.

Actively monitor client satisfaction and retention metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Market Intelligence \& Competitor Analysis

Conduct in-depth market research and regulatory analysis on trade compliance trends across APAC, including customs regulations, and digital trade initiatives.

Identify emerging opportunities and gaps in current product offerings and recommend enhancements to product owners.

Monitor competitor offerings, pricing structures, and market positioning in the trade compliance technology space.

Develop and maintain regional pricing guidelines and discount structures

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work cross-functionally with Global Product Owners, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and legal teams to ensure projects delivery and product launch in the region.

Provide internal training to sales and customer success teams on product capabilities and market nuances.

Occasionally represent the company at industry events, webinars, or customer forums to showcase CrimsonLogic’s trade solutions.

Product Management:

Manage the product lifecycle from ideation to release and post-launch enhancements.

Manage the prioritization of product features to align with business objectives and client needs. Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements for integrations with customs platforms

Coordinate with operations, support and engineering team to ensure product performance and scalability.

Assist in writing user stories, draft test cases and perform testing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Logistics, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field.

Master’s degree (MBA or relevant technical field) preferred.

Working Experience Requirements

Required:

Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in business analysis, or in a customer fronting or product strategy role within software companies.

Experience in market research, competitive intelligence, and pricing strategy for software or technology products

Preferred:

Hands-on experience in managing, operating, or implementing digital regulatory compliance solutions

Deep understanding of trade compliance workflows, regulatory frameworks (e.g., export controls, sanctions, customs declaration systems).

Proven track record in engaging with government agencies or large enterprise clients in the APAC region.

Familiarity with software development lifecycles (Agile/Scrum) and API-based SaaS architecture is preferred.

Experience working in or with China markets, including client engagement and navigating local compliance requirements.

Skills Required

Ability to translate complex regulatory and customer’s needs into functional product specifications.

Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights.

Good presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities

Comfortable working in both structured corporate environments and fast-paced agile teams

Skilled at working within cross-functional global teams across multiple time zones.

Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken) – essential for client interactions in Greater China.

Preferable skills

Deep understanding of trade compliance workflows, regulatory frameworks (e.g., export controls, sanctions, customs declaration systems).

Strong grasp of SaaS technologies, APIs, cloud-based architecture, and data security requirements.

Strong influencing and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience using market intelligence platforms (e.g., Crunchbase, CB Insights) or pricing analytics tools is a plus.
